The ActivCard Single Sign-On solution consists of client middleware, and a server that performs the authentication and securely stores the user's credentials. Optionally, customers have the choice of adding strong authentication with an authentication device (usually a smart card and/or a fingerprint), and an authentication device reader. The administrator is provided a set of tools to manage security policies and the applications that the user is allowed to automatically sign-onto.
